Funny how many are accusing Marc of hitting a parked car when he avoided the parked car but due to avoidance ended up on the other side of the road and hit an oncoming car!!!

Took the front out of the car and I summersalted several times before hitting the Tarmac. Blessed to get away with a fractured wrist, a big hole in my leg and a lot of pain everywhere. Bike looks like a write-off. Where should I send it to see if it is repairable bearing in mind I live in Meath. I reckon if I had ABS I would have stopped in time.

it amounts to the same thing. you still can't blame the parked bloke, which is really the point.

Sorry meant to say thanks again to those who saw my experience as an interesting event, warning and experience and not as a platform to mouth off from their sterile little world.

Why can't the dangerously/illegally parked car, who was stopped in a "clearway" for the purpose of taking photos take some of the blame. People keep saying, "what if it had of been a blind, hard of hearing, orphaned dolphin in the road".............. I get that but it wasn't, it was a mechanically sound rental car that had been intentionally stopped (taking up a complete lane of a narrow country road) in a very dangerous position.
Mark has taken responsibility for the fact that he and no one else crashed his motorcycle but can we please all agree that the rental car and it's moronic driver played a huge part in causing this accident.

do you have a lot of bike accidents in ireland? if the majority are like you lot, thinking it's quite ok to pile into a blind corner, trusting in luck that it's clear, it must be carnage.

I recall an incident in the UK where a lorry driver had stopped round a blind bend to make a delivery, a car piled into him and killed the occupants of the car, the lorry driver was charged and prosecuted successfully with manslaughter, it seems that the car driver in your case was negligent in showing due diligence to the safety of others in parking in the way in which he did, it was live carriageway and due diligence has to be shown, it would appear that the car driver failed to do this, thus is culpable to a certain degree if not 100%.
Ignore these fucking jobsworths on here who say that you should drive like a spastic on acid and be prepared for all and sundry, if that was the case, none of us would get anywhere.......We all have a responsibility for the safety of each other, however, when some one acts foolishly, then the responsibility stops with them and they should accept the consequences. Do not listen to the fuckwits on here, because that is what they mostly are.......FUCKWITS.
 
No one ever likes to see this happen. Accidents happen regardless of reason. Hope you're on the mend. Get yourself sorted, get bike insurance sorted and get your ass back on a bike and enjoy it.
No one goes out to wreck themselves or their bike. Gws

Sorry to hear about your smash and I wish you a full and speedy recovery. Bad as it was, it could have been far far worse. I wrote off my GS and an errant SUV nine years ago, demolishing both wrists and some other bits in the process. I feel your pain. I'm based in Meath also, up near Slane and I'm up and down the N2 most days so if there's anything I can do to help PM me. All the best.
