Luggage costs

Hi,

When I pick my GS up, part of the deal was the extras at cost price luggage etc... works out about 15% less than list. However what other luggage is avalible at what sort of costs, givi etc!?
Do I have to buy a luggage rack for the BMW luggage? sorry about all the newbie type questions!

"Cost" would be at least 40% lower than list on almost any accessory sold !!! not 15% as you have indicated.

You don't say what model it is?
I have a GS1150 fitted with Givi luggage, it is wide wide, compared to the BMW type. But in my opinion looks far better than the drab black.

There are certain advantages in having the 'genuine' BMW luggage. For instance when I changed an R1100R for an 1150 GS the luggage was the same and the dealer changed over the brackets and also changed the locks so all worked on the new (ignition) key. Later when I changed to a 1200GS nothing was the same but the dealer was happy to take my bike with the BMW luggage and fit the equivalent BMW cases to the new model - all in the PE deal. The expanding cases on the 1200 are very good indeed although the left hand side case, without the expansion, won't take much at all . Brian
