Hi all,

I'd like to ask if anybody here is running with GSA aluminium panniers combined with a Givi Maxia 52l top box?

It may sound like an odd combo but I like to tour with the Givi so I have somewhere to stow both helmets when we stop.

The potential spoiler is whether or not the width of the Givi box interferes with the top opening of the GSA panniers.

I guess there's an angineering solution to this if it does but I'd appreciate any real world feedback before I go on a spree to the dealership to px my R1200R.

Tia, Shakey.

PS I loath the vario cases (my wife has a 650 GS with them) and don't want to go to touratech just yet.

I use a 52lt givi

When I have need to use the panniers, I just I clip both sides and lift the lid off and place in the seat ( as it has a cable holding it on)

It's no big deal and you keep all the benefits of the Givi

Shakey, that for me is the perfect combination of luggage. Givi all the way, and unlike the BMW / Touratec stuff they don't mealtime at the first sign of a bit of bad weather......

Shakey, I used a E55 maxia on my bike with std BMW panniers. Had no problem opening the boxes either way, forward or backward without touching the top box.

I use a Kappa KGR46 (Givi Trekker 46) with the BMW aluminium side boxes. The side lids will hinge up (just)

Similar experience with mine in that pannier lids snag topcase unless you release both catches - 52l Givi Maxia + GSA alu panniers. Incidentally, I've moved the Givi plate back by approx 30mm by means of stainless bars attached to the carrier rack in order to give a bit more space for pillion passengers. I found that the Givi alu plate made things a bit more cramped on my GSA compared to the plastic one on my previous bike an R1150RT.

GIVI

Givi Trekker Outback 42ltr in black along with BMW panniers - perfect fit and combination with pannier lids clearing topbox with ease.

MONOKEY

Yes, appears to work fine by me, with a bit more room than the BMW case too.

With Full face Arai RX7GP inside
