I knew I was leaving my post open to "creative editing" when I posted it

They decided that I was far too handsome to be in the pics, but we all agreed that if you had been there - it would have redressed the balance :P

Well, it appears I am a bit late reporting in.

If I didn't take so many pictures I wouldn't have to spend so long re-sizing them !

Thanks to all who turned up, there were ten of us at lunch (well, when Denis Milne eventually found his way back). Two non-GS riders which, with the three or so GS riders who also belong to the BMW Club, makes us about evens - good turnout :thumb2 .

It was good to see 'Aldy' there, having travelled up from the North of England. Aldy is a member of the North-East Section of the BMW Club as well as being a UKGS "Tosser".

I'll put a few pics on the site. There was quite a lot of standing around while we discussed how far Denis would get before he realised he had missed the turning and was alone :augie

We finally gave up waiting and trooped in for food and drink. The Waitress decided to take the drink orders first, probably expecting these grizzled bikers to be hard drinkers.

The order went like this:

Two fresh Orange.
Three Coca Colas
one Diet Coke
Two pots of Tea
one fizzy water

She left looking puzzled.

Then we all had soup and sandwiches whereupon - Denis arrived - to universal pish-taking :clap

His punishment was to sit in a corner without soup :D

Oh yes . . Clint Smith of the BMW Club turned up with a very nice F800ST - interersting to compare it with the GS'. It seems that Clint runs The Buccleuch Arms Hotel in Moffat and he extends an invitation to any members looking for accommodation / hospitality. If you want to get in touch - www.buccleucharmshotel.com or phone him on 01683 220003.

Blatent plug over - here are some pics.

More pics.

Of course I should have stopped en-route and taken pictures of the stunning Borders winter scenery in the fine grey drizzle that fell all day - but I didn't ;)

Looks like yet another successful Voyager day out: some Pied Piper, methinks. Sorry I missed it, but 13 year old sons and art projects had to take precedence, unfortunately. Would you have prefered a ride out in the Borders or helping to carve a totem pole for a school art project? Answers on a postcard please..........

dunard

PS As I type, my eldest son, Tom (13) is still hammering away outside with chisel and mallet. He'll either sever an artery or produce Michaelangelo's David - just hope it's worth it in the end!

And a few more :D

That's all Folks - Until next time :thumb2

Glad you had a good day gents.

Bob I think I saw you heading home, I was riding along the motorway on my wee Honda and I spied a yellow/black jacket, after a closer look I'm sure it was yourself going towards kirklisten(sp) on a minor road:thumb2

Why does Dennis always end up sitting on his own:D

Stumpy

It could have been me - I cut across from Kirknewton to Wilkieston (where I passed Denis heading home - I guess he had chummed Blackal home) then went through the Newbridge Industrial Estate (with damp roads with diesel on the corners  ) then into Kirkliston via the B800 that passes under the M9.

Pity you couldn't have joined us - even on a Honda :thumb

Bob.

A good turnout today and nice to meet everyone. After the inn I went down to Eskdalemuir and Lockerbie then back up by Moffat (stopped for coffee and cake :mmmm ) and got back to Dundee just before 6 ... 285 miles for the day :thumb
