M8 owners please read.

Is this where they replace the current ramps in M8 engines manufactured before some date in 2020, but only when you take your softail in for servicing?

The mighty (possibly) RKS is still in at Cheltenham HD, awaiting primary vent fix kit....only ordered 2 weeks ago.....

It was delivered from N Ireland sans an MOT , so it's had that, ( not due one in N.I. which is after 4 years old over there....who knew?? :nenau), and the gearbox has been inspected and passed, so that's good.

Patience is not a strong point of mine.

You jest, but as Chris also heads up the service department of the Triumph dealer where I bought my 900 Scrambler, that might just work!

Well….. after lots of stops on their way… they’re at last in a city I recognise….

Nice one. Are all our rods the same diameter?;)

Well.....the primary vent fix kit has finally turned up at the HD dealer (probably couriered by Hermes??:nenau:D), and is being fitted as I type. MOT and transmission inspection already done and passed on both counts.:thumb

Just in time for me to ride it home tomorrow......................................... in the rain!:mad:

(a fender rack from Twizz and some fuck off 16" Carlini Gangster Apes all the way from the US of A arrived today as well.................things are looking up!:D )

Excellent…..the clutch push rods are still in the USPS system somewhere…… they’ll have done more miles across the ‘states than you see on a lot of British Harleys…:D. ps.. don’t forget, if the Police seat doesn’t suit…I’m your man.:thumb2

I am reading this thread propped up in bed up to my eyeballs with the cold and coughing my guts up and my brain is asking why does the oil transfer to the primary in the first instance?

Is it simply heat and oil froth in the gearbox causing more pressure than the gearbox vent can handle? Would a better gearbox vent not be the answer?

Is the oil level high enough that it can simply flow through the clutch push rod tunnel and if that is the issue why can't they install a seal. (The 1150 GS has a felt seal on the equivalent shaft.)

I can't imagine why a hydraulic actuation would be different to a cable actuation unless the push rod design is also different.
