Machine Art Advance Guards

Anyone here used them?

I'm thinking of ditching the muffs for the winter and wondered if these make much of a difference to how cold the hands get?

Cant see that they will be any better than any other make if guard. But they will be suitably expensive for the more “ discerning “ customers

I'm also thinking of the summer too - I use Alpinestars vented gloves but find my hands still get too hot.

I use RST evotech gloves and find them too warm on occasion. I bought a couple pairs of those knock off Ali Express Motorrad gloves and that improved things a little.

Thanks both. I was hoping to do away with the muffs as I find them a bit fiddly at times and thought MA guards might be the answer to both hot and cold riding.

Suspect I'll end up putting the muffs on again - I can use them with my summer gloves which I prefer over the autumn/winter ones.

Barkbusters Blizzard guards for me as well, Going on soon ready for winter, And they normally Come off in March/April

Dave :thumby:

I used the Barkbuster Blizzard guards last year on my Africa Twin.... In fact, I'm going to go down to the garage and refit them right now !!

Not a fully enclosed muff, so you can still get your hands in easily. But they keep the bulk of airflow off you. :thumb

Not seen them before.. I use summer gloves all year and have put my larger plastic Givi guards on last year to keep it off my hands, but they are just the job!
I'll keep my eyes open for a set of those!!

Here's some info on the Barkbusters Blizzard guards. Not as enclosing as the muffs.

They're more flared out on my application as I haven't removed the Storm Handguards behind them. I would prefer to keep these in place

Thanks for the info. I'll give it some thought.

Just bought a pair of these in XL size hope they fit my hands and dont fall apart like some have reported in the feedback section on Amazon. :thumb:D

For 7 quid Del they will get you through the winter, mine have been fine 2 winters, but depends how often you can get out, if the LH one falls to bits, sell the RH one to beaver. :D

I use the Machine art guards, yes they are pricey but I like that it makes me discerning (not sure if that is good?).
They are really sturdy and when all the bits are taken off have great venting straight through to your hands.
I have however removed them to put my Blizzards on for winter, I use summer gloves and the Blizzards work very well although there is room for improvement if they came back a couple of inches they might be perfect. That an if they fitted over the top of the Machine art guards (which they don't).
I tried silk glove liners and they are not bad but get completely eaten by just touching velcro. I now use some thermal liner gloves I got from Go Outdoors.

Thanks Gnits.

Judging by your comments I think I'll put the muffs on for winter.

I have Machine Art Guards fitted and was hoping that the Blizzards would somehow fit over the top for winter. Well I tried to fit them today and sorry to say that they will not fit over the top.

Will just leave the Machine Art Guards on for the moment. I'm disappointed that they don't provide as much protection as I expected. Much better than what BMW put on the bike though.
