Maier Rear Splash Guard BMW R1200 GS LC TE - Warning

I have been a fan of the Maier Rear Splash Guard, having had one fitted to my 2008 GS. Did a great job, so when I changed to a LC it thought I would try the Maier again. Fitted no problem and appeared to do its job, but on a recent wetish trip to Scotland my fellow riders had Mudslings fitted. They are slightly longer and did a better job. Now have a Mudsling fitted and found that the Maier had been catching the swingarm. Only done 2,000 miles and it has rubbed paint off....... Was thinking of reselling it, but will now bin it......

Could you post a picture like I did to see if it's the same on your bike? I just shoved my phone upside down near the wheel

Mine fits perfectly,no scraping.
It is a "Lo-version" bike,....wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Perhaps it does since yours would be a fair amount lower.

Slap a bit of silver smooth Hammerite on it, after a wipe down with contact cleaner & job's a good'un

Only a bit of paint that'll be covered by the wheel anyway
