As per the title, how have others managed to reconnect the springs after the pivot bolts have snapped?

I refitted the side stand springs, but I'd be buggered if I can stretch the main stand springs.

There isn't much on UKSGER or Youtube that i can find on the subject for the RT.

Thanks in advance

It's generally easier to unbolt the stand, fix the springs and pull the stand into position to refit the bolts.

After a bit of levering myself against a wall and pulling the stand I finally managed to hold it in position long enough to start the screw. Job done.

Thank you.

I normally push washers in between the coils which then extends the spring.

I've seen (and tried) that one - and I'm sure it's great if you have a vice or really strong thumbs/wrist. Unfortunately, I have neither - bad break 5 years ago.

I have tried on a couple of RT's to remove the centre stand bolts for stand painting. Couldn't budge the bolts. Gave up as my intended job was not that important but would appreciate any advice for future attempts. Thanks.

Mine sheared so I had no option other than replace. Sorry.
