Managing Russian routes in MapSource

I brought the Russian maps from Garmin.com expecting to be able to work in MapSource to plan a route. It did not work - i have the maps on the GPS, but not in MapSource. Guess i naively expected the GPS to sync the maps to MapSource.

Called Garmin - they won't help - and there is not a resolution, so i feel stuffed.

Any ideas?

If you have the maps on the GPS, and you didn't load the GPS via Mapsource I guess you bought the maps on SD card, in which case I think you are stuffed as the card is copy protected. Any chance of getting Garmin to change the SD card version to the DVD version, which should solve your problem (I think)?
