Maps of the Hoggar

Hi -

Please, does anyone know of a map (and where to buy it) of the Hoggar that's more detailed than the Michelin 741 (which I think is 1:4,000,000)?

Stanfords have a selection covering Algeria, the most useful seems to be the Michelin 742 at 1:1,100,000

Hoggar map search - update

Update:

In case you have followed a link to this thread because you're interested in a similar trip, this may be useful:

The map question remains open. Michelin 742 is for Morocco, and only touches on the very N/W corner of Algeria.

Michelin 743 is the Algeria Tunisia sheet, but only covers the northern half of Algeria, so it does not include the Hoggar.

For the Hoggar, I am guessing that we need the sheet which fits directly to the south of sheet 743... if indeed there is one.

Sorry for the 742-743 typo. I'm suprised 743 isn't much use given the title of the map.

I still suggest you talk to Chris Scott--he's the expert for this region.

Yes, one would imagine that 'Algeria Tunisia' would in fact cover the whole of those counties rather than just half of each...???

Ah well, another one for the collection...!
