Mapsource doesn't open file

Right I am both a computer and GPS dummy.

When someone either posts a route or as was yesterday sent me one on email and I try to open it I get a pop up box saying ..

The file cannot be opened as it uses a subsiquent file version.
This program can read MPS files as well as GDB files version 2 and below.


Any ideas?

They probably have a later version of Mapsource than you. Have you tried the updater from within Mapsource?
