is it anygood ????

i have been looking for city select and found this!! how does it compair?? considering its half the price!!!

anyone with any experiance of this software please???

Take a look at the Garmin site. I had the same thought as you and checked out the spec. As far as I can tell, MetroGuide does not support automatic routing on the GPS device (just on the PC). Not much use then, really!

http://www.garmin.com/specs/mapsource.pdf Page 11 of 16 kind of explains it.

thankyou

looks like i'll be spending the £rip-off for city select then!!!! :(

Yep.

A word of caution if you currently use City Select v6... The maps take up significantly more space on the GPS card. Not a problem if you have a recent device but my SPIII originally had a 128Mb card. It was almost big enough to take the whole of the GB maps in v6 but not even close with v7. Similarly, I had to buy a 256Mb card so I could get most (but not all) of France on one card.

I guess it's the price we pay for better(?) mapping but it came as a bit of a shock.

ok i will have to look into it

be aware of metroguide......as Glynn says, it will nt do auto routing. (I fell for that trap) It's designed to work with cheaper etrex garmin's. BUT it will work on your 60CS as a general navigation aide, and will show maps in as great a detail as the city select. Its a good interim if you not yet able to afford full edition of city select..........or someone might be able to do you a copy (!!!!!!!) as its not gps specific like city select
