Mapsource problem

New pc (XP) at work so deceided to install mapsource.

Mapsource city navigator NT+ Europe V8

installed and it works fine, run the online software update, version 6.12.2.0.

Now the prog opens, tells me the maps are out of date and shuts down.
Garmin support were no help, "never had that before, sir"

Anybody got any suggestions

Uninstall the software and try reinstalling it....

I sometimes get the "out of date" message with NT Version 8... But the system doesn't crash... just gives me the chance to cancel the info box...

Perhaps try installing another map product... the free one for Morocco, or scottish mountaineering product, or any of the other free ones...

Other than that I'd contact Garmin again, and try to ferret out the Registry entry that handles that check and disable it somehow...

Might have a poke at the registry, that's always good for a laugh

If you do not have adminstrator rights the software will not install correctly.

Your IT people may need to install it for you if this is the case.

Was the mapsource version you installed a Beta??

They do run out sometimes, and you have to revert back to a standard, non beta version......I'd try uninstalling it and installling an earlier version if it is :nenuau

Problem solved, thanks to Steve for posting link to Garmin website update.
Why didn't I think to look at the site.

The update you get when running the software is older than the update posted on Garmins site.

Fixed an issue at application startup when the expected code pages are not installed on the PC.
