Mapsource V7 & V8

I've still got V6 on my 2610. I tried ordering the V7 upgrade through the Garmin site, once in December and again in late Jan. I've had no response other than the automated email.

Now that V8 is out, do i still have to get V7 first or can i go straight to the latest one?

Straight to 8 as long as you have V6 (or earlier) and the unlock codes.

You should be able to go straight to the latest version.

did you get the mapping cds with your unit ?

No, had the discs for an SP III and got the unlock codes from Garmin for the 2610.

just a thought - make sure you send them your address in the email !

I received my upgrade email this morning!!!

Duly replied to.

Now all I wait for is the DVD with City Navigator 8.

I can't wait!!

City Navigator v8 now listed

If you look at the drop down list of Mapsource map viewers, City Navigator v8 has replaced v7 on the list.
