< sob > My poor old laptop doesn’t do DVD

Might need to buy an external USB DVD drive :(
There are, as always ways around....

Step 1, go to a friend with Nero and WinRAR on his PC and ask him to chop up the DVD into 2-3 CD's.

Step 2, unload the CD's to your PC.

Step 3, download WinRAR & DAEMON Tools from the Internet and install them.

Step 4, use WinRAR to rebuild the DVD image onto your disk.

Step 5, read the DVD image with DAEMON and install the map.

Out-of-pocket cost zero. :thumb

Cheers HMR, Sounds good, but I think eBay maybe the way forward with an external DVD drive

Yes, Just register for the free upgrade and you will get an email back confirming the offer. Then you will just have to load the DVD and install the new version over the old. Then register the new version using the upgrade registration number you will get. It "might" be a little more complex as the email I received from Garmin told me that the upgrade would be to City Navigator 8 as City Select will not be released as a version 8, but all users of Quest could upgrade to CN 8. Those qualifying for a free version upgrade like you and me who bought their Garmin Quests just before Christmas, will not have to pay anything toward the upgrade at all :D :D :D :D

Chris
You will get free upgrade as long as you did not register it before release date jan,1st,
