Hello Chaps
Just got another 1150 and the pannier key is different to the ignition key. I'm sure I read somewhere that you can redo the lock pins to match , or was that for Givi boxes? Anyway , can it be done and if so how or is there a 'how to' somewhere? Thanks

Yes, you can. In each pannier theres a little hole which allows you to unlatch the end leaf in the barrel and release it so you can match up the leaves and the keys.
One thing, when you try the key in the barrel, make sure the leaves go fully intobthe barrel, any tiny part of leaf protruding will mean the barrel won't turn.

Hello KTM-Al, there are a number of "how to do it" videos on You Tube. Just search on BMW lock or something similar. Rob.

Always a good idea to leave the locking wafer out when you first re- insert the barrel. Hold the barrel in with your left thumb while you operate the key to check it works....and if it's all okay you can refit the lock wafer. Saves a bit of fiddling if the lock won't turn/ sticks/ can't get the key out etc.
If it all looks okay ( all the wafers are flush when the key is inserted) but its still notchy, or won't work at all, it's usually one or both of the end wafers that need removing. I've done a few of these over the years l but never worked out why the end wafers cause trouble when they are seemingly correct.
