Maxxis tyres - any good?

Anyone tried the 'Maxxis Adventure Sport Detour MA-D' rear tyre?
They seem a bit cheap and my local dealer doesn't like them but can't give me a reason apart from "they are tricky to fit".

Spectacularly heavy and stiff carcases make them difficult to fit.

Never heard a good word about them outside of the bike press (who sell full page adverts).

Their stands at shows always seem to have the fittest women on them.

However if I was to be buying cheap(er) tyres I'd be looking at Heidenau K60's, which do seem to get rather good reviews.
