Houses in Stockport seem to look nice and reasonable prices.
My job 'may' be moving me from London to Manchester City Centre in September 2013 and I will need to upstick everything and go and live there / surrounding areas.
As I do not know the area nor surrounding areas I would be grateful for any advice on where or not to live.
I am after a 2-3 bedroomed house, preferably with a garage. Price ... well I am paying for it and I need to work out my finances so not a lot.
In order to not offend any persons with any bad comments being posted on here, could I ask you PM me with all your thoughts.
Cheers
Joe

.Dont bother, dont waste your money moving, take a redundancy cheque, reduce your mortgage with the cheque, and find another job...
Thats what i would do.
I am from Manchester.
What he says is on the money.
No matter where you go, it is all shite.
Too down to earth or too much false eyelashes and bullshit, seems to be no middle ground.
The people are grumpy fuckers(must be all that rain)
There is no amount of money in the world that would ever tempt me back.
I would rather live in a shitehole in India, at least the people would be friendly.
Manchester is really, really shite on all levels.

just rent your house out , then rent one up there . you wont be so pissed when they get rid of you .. at least you can try some different areas, if the job turns to shit you havent lost everything in one move.![]()
I live in Oldham well just outside of it a village called Heyside in the town of Royton. You also have Shaw both are very close to the new Metro that takes you right into Manchester. Just So happens that I have my house for sale, It's a 3/4 bedroom house with two driveways,Garage,Conservatory, near two good schools easy on to the motorway network(Do I sound like a estate agent) But more importantly on the edge of the moors with some cracking roads and green lanes. AND OF COURSE A GOOD PUB NEARBY. £199k to you sir
