Cruise cntrl should have been a factory option:bounce1 I had one one my old 1200RS and loved it:) As I like to go on some long rides I was almost willing to kill to get one on the GSA, didn't have to, just an arm an a leg to MC Cruise:augie However just sold my high milage/trusted 07 GSA and got an 08 GSA w/ESA. Will be installing MC Cruise Cntrl on it later this spring (just got two feet of snow here in Norway). But hope to get some advise from fellow riders with exp from this set up. (Or I will have to post my self about it after the installation is complete).

Hi Paul your so right, BMW should of at least made it an option. Anyway good luck with the install of the MC cruise control, let us know how you get on. I don't believe anybody here in the UK has done it, but on the ADV site their has been a couple. :thumb2

Unknow product?

The lack of response lead me to belive I don't have to many fellow riders interested in cruise cntrls. Some will argue it is to expensive, that is obviously a subjective call. As a Norwegian all I have to say is that it cost me about the same as 15-20 kmh on a speeding ticket and may very well save you your driving license :rob (The strategy of how to utilize it is of course also a very subjective call) :augie

For those of you interested and that don't have the web adress:

I'd love the MC Cruise too - it is expensive - but I think they are worth their weight!

Let us know how you get on fitting it. It looks complicated.

didnt even kno they made such a thing, top idea thou, better than those throttle lock things ,,,fekin dangerouse

i would love to have one on the bike, seen them from the adv rider forum, but un aware of a uk importer and fitter.

most definitely beyond my ability

me too :thumb

Had a R1200 RT for a day with Cruise control... must admit on some roads it was ace... :D

You can keep the radio and cd player though :mcgun

BMW

Wow.

I've just read through the installation manual for that... erm... complex, no?
Do there not exist canbus systems that would do the same job? I'd expect almost all the information that's required for proper operation flows along the bus somewhere...

*wonders how the BMW tourer systems tie in internally*

I have to agree. Funny how we get Integral ABS w/ASC and even with an enduro mode from BMW, but so far no offer of a cruise cntrl. Other BMW models do have it and I don't see why BMW will not offer it for the GS/ADV - most of the system is most likely allready in place on the bike.

I love BMW for giving me the enduro ESA on my new 08' GSA, but have an uneasy feeling that some goodies could be held back for the 09' like CC and HID - options I believe quite a number of us would end up paying for if/when they are offered...

MC Cruise response

Just got an initial response from our friends down under:

Hi,

We are trying to find time to go and look at the new bikes here to see what they have. We know the actuator can be relocated lower than in the original kit – se attached photos. Maybe that could work?
