MCN voted 1290 SA best Adventure bike

I heard about it last week because the bike they used was Gear4KTM's demo, which I had a test ride on shortly afterwards. Bloody lovely bike.
I have still no intention of buying MCN though...

It's doesn't say it's the best adventure bike at all, it labels it as the best adventure touring bike in the adventure style and the cover shot says it all :blast

I agree with MCN I have recently purchased one and it is first class

Best according to someone who won't actually spend their own hard earned on it.
Same as every other bike test and award and it's better than being paid/threatened to say it's the best like bmw does.

Sorry, I didn't mean to piss in your corn flakes!

Nothing to see here bmw guys, move along now.

STOP PRESS.......STOP PRESS......STOP PRESS........STOP PRESS

Biker mates across the land declare MCN only fit for arse wiping!

One week later.........................

Biker mates across the land declare the accolade of best Touring Adventure bike (sic) for the 1290SA is an accurate and fair assesment by that esteemed publication MCN!

You read it here first :thumb

Since when did anyone pay any attention to what MCN says :blast

The KTM is no doubt a very good motorcycle but it winning a vote in More Crap than News is unlikely to persuade me to buy one ;)

..............a long test ride might though :D

Its only a glitch BMW will be back on top next year....with improved indicators and sillicone foot pegs and carbon fibre kitchen sink as standard

No no no bmw provide something as standard? Does not compute! It will come with the TE LTD edition for only another 2k. It won't hold water of course but meh that's what the warranty is for.

took one out about a month ago, and it was a massive disappointment, not sure what I was expecting but didnt get on with it at all, switch gear has to be some of the worst I have ever used, I mean I have size 14 hands and even I couldnt reach some of the switches, it wasnt comfortable and was just hard work to ride, as opposed to the S1000xr which I thought I wouldnt like and was the best bike I have ridden in years, appart from my 990 of course
