it could be difficult to find steptoe... 3 months ago I call him I think 8-9 times, i try to go to his home and he doesn't have 2 minuts to have a look at my GS.

after I went to parklane bmw and they give me a quote of 3000 pounds for a lot of think, but not what my gs need.

after that I have done the service by myself.

Bardicastle gives me an adress of a good mechanic in north london

You turned up announced on the morning of friday 28th august . Just as i was leaving in my car to attend the funeral of a very good friend. I told you that at the time.

And in all the phone calls ( spoke to me twice, my son once) i have never understood why you wanted me to look at your bike.
You never ever actually said there was a problem despite me asking, all you ever said was "please take a look". :nenau

Never mind. Your happy now :thumb And so am i :D

Don't worry step.

I've written my experiences.

I contact you on 20 august and your answer was: "You'll have to visit me so i can check what needs replacing", I call you 2 or three times and you said: "please call me the day you come, because I'm really busy" (perhaps could not be the exact word). You live in south west london and me in north london, so it's about 1 hour of travel by bike. After the calls I tryed to call you on 28 morning, at 9 I think and you don't answer, I thought you where sleeping. I decide to come, and if we don't meet because you were busy i can visit richmond park with my girlfriend. When I arrived at you you said: have a look, I have 3 motorbike here and now I'm busy, I have to collect some spare parts.
I think it was easyer to tell me: call me back in two weeks:thumb

I'm not angry with you, I'm just telling my experience.

And I don't say you are an incopetent mechanic, I've said that could be difficult to have an appointment with you ;)

Wrong - I told you i was going to a funeral in Kent.

Read HERE, post number 15 - It was his funeral.

But if someone just wants to pop in on the off chance i'll be here they could very well be wasting their time. I'm a one man band, and if i need a part that i haven't got in stock for the bike i'm working on then i have go and get it. The main priority is to the customers bike that i'm working on at that moment - You never know it could be your bike.

:popcorn

I've had trouble getting steppers on the blower too, but like he says - he is doing his job, which he does well, he doesn't have assistants to answer phones when he's in his lockup. So I just PM him, He is always on the forums at somepoint during the day.

I'm lucky we were in two and both two understand the same. I admit sometimes I don't understand spoken english as well , but my girlfriend understand and speak well.

In 8 days i was not able to have an appointment with you, could I say is it difficult?

If you think this is an offence at your work you can delete my post, you are a moderator. But I don't want to offend your work, because I know a lot of people raccomend me your work :thumb, and it means you are a good mechanic:thumb

So your calling me a liar ????

Listen - Why should i lie. Do you really think i made up a story about a good friend dying and posted it in the forum a good week before you turned up unannounced on the day of his funeral.

I said i have to get to kent for a funeral, my suit and the flowers were in the car, the car that i drove away in, and on that day the M25 was closed anti-clockwise so there was no time whatsoever to spare.
I'll say it again. Why would i lie. :nenau

When i was available you couldn't make it. And when you could make it i wasn't :nenau

All you ever said was "listen to my bike". I can't make time for a 10 minute window to suit when you are free when it could feck up my whole day and the person who's expecting their bike ready at a certain time.

There is just me here, answering the phone, replying to emails, going to the bank, going to the post office, and repairing/servicing peoples bikes. So if your free at a lunchtime, i maybe at the post office. If i miss the post people don't get their parts, if i wait for you and listen to your bike it makes me late for the post and then the job falls behind and then i'm working into the evening -While you at home having dinner before putting your feet up .

I have people pick up and drop off their bikes at all hours, from 7.30am up until 9.30pm , including sundays. :nenau

I'm sorry if the way i run my business doesn't suit you, but it must work as i've been here doing the same thing for the last 20 years. :D

erm...thanks for letting me know about steptoe, hes not far from me in brentford. bit of hijacked thread. can we all be friends again?

I thought this was going to be a Harry Hill moment and have been waiting for someone the shout

"Fight....!"

if you need a fabricator Thing-a-ma-Jigs I kid you not about the name in Byfleet are very good and making random looking things to bolt on to bikes cars etc.

regards

Lo

And you'd know, seeing as you picked your bike up at 10.30 on sunday morning before church :D:D

Yeah - I noticed you were in your Sunday best:D

I mean how unreasonable can you get? I drop my bike off on a Saturday and then after several false promises to pick up on 3 seperate occasions I finally get my arse in gear and pick it up 2 weeks later on a Sunday morning?????

Another thing is that Steptoe must do very thourough test rides, my bike had around 2000 miles more on it than when I dropped it off:nenau

So your calling me a liar ????

oh my god!
I believe you were gone to a funeral, and probably the last week was not the perfect week due to you have lost one of your best friend, but I wrote:
it could be difficult to find steptoe

could step, could! not is! could! I wrote "could" not "is"!:thumb:thumb:thumb

so, please, end this discussion!
