Got told by Nippy Normans that I had to wait 4 weeks, after having already waited 3 weeks for the Wunderlich rack to be delivered.
At over £170, its made me reconsider, and the ventura rack looks a bit naff...
So, got tools out and started to make one, cant be that hard.
Got a length of 20mm conduit and 4 saddles for £8 and a piece of steel from B+Q for £6.
Here goes...

Rigged the bender up, measured up and bend the first section.

Next, bent the bracket opposite direction and tested it against the bike.

Stripped what I needed off the bike so I could think about how to mount the lower bracket.

Bent the top bracket and started to weld and bolt it all togeather.
I put helicopter tape on the frame first to stop it scratching.

More to follow, soon as the Wunderlich top plate arrives monday.
Will get some nice bolts then too and smarten up the job ready for powder coating.
It feels really strong already. Should definately be up to the job:D

No guessing what you do for a living then... Looks good

Thanks, main thing, costs next to nowt.
Im a sparky so I have worked with steel conduit but its really easy to bend with the proper machine.
My weldings not brilliant, but looks as good as the Hepco and Becker stuff Ive owned inthe past.
It will all look nice when its coated tho.

Warning

Bent the top bracket and started to weld and bolt it all togeather.
I put helicopter tape on the frame first to stop it scratching.

Bengaz PLEASE CHECK the original rear tube bracket (Black one) as on my
HP2E it is thin wall Ali and would not take a load.:nenau just check with a magnet.
But very nice work. looks good :thumb
