Megamoto steering

Joe,
mine came with pilot power 2ct's. Bike was 2nd hand 2300 miles and rear just about gone then.
Thought these were the standard tyres going by the mileage and that was the first rear tyre change?
Got to say tho, until very high speed that the bike handles great.

Mine came new with just the standard Pilots Power on, rear lasted 4,500 so quite pleased, as a fair bit of that went on the way to the Alps. Not had any issues with the Michelins, but I recently swapped from Metzlers to Diablo's on my Rockster and have been really impressed with the feedback and grip both wet and dry, really stable and neutral.

Sorry lads but on a bike of this value it's simply not good enough. Mine's now up for sale :(

Too bad it didnt work out for you. its really a great bike.

Having just borrowed a K1300R whilst my MM was in for service, I've got to agree the MM really is a great bike. Cross country it is simply awesome to my mind. It really did show up every deficiency in the K1300R on the same 120 mile cross country ride, there and back. Rode home on the MM, just knowing I was on the right bike :D:D:D

I just took delivery of an 08 with 1400 miles on it. Will start out with Joe's suspension set up, and how she handles. Here in CA all the best roads are curvy mountain roads, so sustained high speed running isn't much of an issue, I just it to be as perfect as possible in the 40-100mph range.

Love to hear about any other handling improvements, and also what the best tire choice is.

steady riding - 4 setting is great, fast riding -2 perfect.
On the -2, no wobble at all, and handling is first class and will outperform most bikes.
Yes the slow speed handling is affected, but only that it is different and within hours, unknoticeable.
Overall a very essential piece of kit for the megamoto that should definately come on the bike as standard.

When you talk about the settings -4 and -2 are you talking about -4 backed off from fully stiff> Im confused. if you could elaborate that would be great.

Yes, excactly how I run mine.
4 clicks from fully clockwise for everyday bimbling around and 2 clicks off for nailing the pig.

Tires are a REAL personal thing. I prefer the Bridgestones and was running their 003 race (soft front, medium rear) when I crashed my MM. No doubt these are overkill for most but they sure stick like glue. The 003 Track/Street should be nice and the 016 work well also.

I also ran Corsa IIIs and they were great as well.

I already had the Bridgestone's on my shopping list from your post on the other board (I'm HPSaucy there). Did you notice tire choice changing the much talked about head shaking?

No. I didn't.
