ive seen 4 types that look really nice.
Would like to know what you have on your HP2 and how do you rate it?
How waterproof it is, how accessible and how easy is it to fill tank.
And most importantly does it mark the paintwork?

FAMSA Enduro Max - base made specifically for the HP2, so a good, secure fit on the bike, if you want to take the base on and off the bike regularly can be a bit of a fiddle to fit. FAMSA are a quality bag, they also manufacture KTM's own brand tank bags.

Wolfman - the Rainier link you posted is not the best fit on the HP2. The Explorer Lite is probably the best fit on the HP2, closely followed by the Timberwolf.

Wolfman Explorer Lite

Wolfman Timberwolf

I've had all three tank bags on various bikes , but currently have the Timberwolf on the Megamoto, as it's also a good fit on my Rockster and very easy to swap from bike to bike (30 seconds) as I have a set of straps on each.

I wont be detaching it reguarly at all.
Is the famsa one better than the wolfman?

Any news on the BMW or the wunderlich one.

I notice the wunderlich one seems to fit without any straps showing and tilts to fill.

How easy are they all to fill tank. I'll be doing that a lot :(

The Touratech and Wunderlich bags are both made by the same company - Kahedo in Germany, and I'd say that the FAMSA and Wolfman bags are just as good quality having owned all four brands.

When it comes to filling the tank, the Wolfman wins as it's connected by 3 / 4 quick release clips (3 on the Timberwolf, 4 on the Explorer Lite), the FAMSA connects to the base with a zip.

Here's the best pic I could find of the BMW HP2 bag.

I'm leaning towards this one, mainly because I don't want my stuff cooked in a black tank bag. No idea how much it is :nenau

Has anyone got one?

Tank bag

I have the Wunderlich one, and have owned a Famsa one.
In my opinion, the Wunderlich one is the best. It is ALOT easier to remove to fill up (and you will be doing that alot with a 13litre tank!) than the Famso one. The zip is fiddly, especially when the bag is full. The wunder one also has a full size map pocket which is removable which makes life easier. Loowd at the BMW one.....too expensive and a right faff to get on and off for filling....even the BMW parts man said that!

There you go...my 2p worth!

I have the Marsee corona rocket pocket. Its a ring attachment to the gas cap and twists of in 2 seconds. Its expandable and well made.

Its only about 11 liters expanded. Its good for local trips to the store and around town. I usually use it unextended, its good for my cell phone, water bottle, sunglasses and other miscellaneous stuff. They do make a bigger bag thats about 22 liters both with the corona gas cap mount and the strap mount. This one would be more suitable to touring. Heres the website.

Thank god you said that. Ive ordered one without seeing either:)

There are some high res pictures of the BMW HP2 tank bag available here.

I'm still tempted. It is a little bigger than I wanted but is the neatest fitting bag my a mile and it isn't black, which means things won't cook in it in summer. Yes it is silly money I'm told, but I'm going to see what sort of deals are available.

I have one. Its great. It fits very well and even fully loaded never moves a millimetre.

It expands easily and is fully waterproof, although never submerged it fully before anyone points that out.

It has a hex rubber base that is nice and soft so never marked the bikes one bit. Even in the pishing rain it does not slip.

You do have to remove it to fill up, but that is easy to do so no major issue.

Thanks for that :thumb2

Got any pics of yours on the bike? Is the map pocket as floppy as it looks or is that just because it is empty on these pics?

After owning a Famsa for my Tuono I ordered one for the MM (Windingroads in the UK). It is a high quality product! I'll post some pics of it and show you how easy it is to fill up the bike. No need to remove it, just unzip a bit and turn it over :) Pics to follow later.

DISASTER!!!

Wunderlich have stoppped making their HP2 tank bag while mine has been ordered :)

I now need to choose an alternative.

Looking like the Famsa one (dont like the look of the BMW one).

RoteEddie, have you got the pics please showing how easy to fill up?

Is the Famsa bag waterproof at all?

I want to keep my valuables in my tank bag so how quick is the bag to detatch and carry around?

Thanks...

Here it is. The bag is not waterproof, but comes with a rain cover.
