Forgive my ignorance but who is “Melvyn” and how do I set about finding this worker of wondrous deeds before I am totally incapacitated. Been on a 200 miler today and am still aching. Can’t write anymore unless I stand up so off for a hot bath. :tears

they don't work for everyone

True. But they work for me, my ass is so comfy Ms Cheek's says she hears it snoring now and then. :D

Get a Corbin :thumb :thumb :thumb :thumb :thumb :thumb :bow :bow :bow :bow :bow :bow

I have to agree. :thumb

Had my GSA seat done by Melvin, good service, quick turnaround and nicely made.

Better than the stock seat, but sadly still was'nt quite right for me. :(

Bought the Corbin, made like shite, the service was crap, but fitted like a glove. :nenau

But even Corbins dont suit every one.

You maybe on a very long and expensive path to find a seat that is right for YOU!

I lost count how many seating options I tired until I bought the Corbin. :spitfire

Then I went and sold the bike  :nenau

I've tried a Melvyn'd seat (on an 1150) and it wasn't for me. Now I've got a Sargent and it's excellent.

If you do go and visit Melvyn, he's a very nice chap, he'll make you a nice cup of tea but he could talk the hind legs off a donkey :)

i think a melvyn seat only really works if you can go and see him in person - so he knows exactly what you want and how big/heavy you are.

i'm sure if he gets it right - it'll be excellent. - otherwise sargeant is the holy grail. :thumb

if you know what you want & you tell him what you want, melvyn can do it for you. it's only a bit of foam & vinyl, how hard can it be? it's the design & customisation that's tricky.
his own idea of what a GS seat should be is a bit skewed, but then so is bmw's ;)
