I've a lump of memory foam some where in the garage need to try it out.

curious...
if you got a cheap memory foam pillow, the one with the curved shape for your neck.
cut it with a bread knife or electric carving knife into 'cake portion' wedge shapes, glue together and cover with vinyl and use it as a pad.....

would that work?:nenau

I pop my inflatable camping pillow under my sheepskin to keep it in place, that would work for the foam too. I was thinking about one of those beaded seat covers in the recent hot weather, anybody tried one ?

That works

Cut my piece of memory foam to fit the cover of my Airhawk and tried it on my ZZR.
Just in the interest of science ( I hope you lot appreciate it) I went out for a 148mile run to see how it felt.
Initially I thought it wasn't going to be any good as it felt like it had compressed so I was sitting on the original (rock hard) seat. But after 148 miles it definitely helped. Normally on the ZZR I get butt ache within 50-60 miles but with the memory foam it was 100 before I felt like stopping for a butt break.
Not as comfortable as the Airhawk but if you could source a cheap piece of memory foam it would be a lot cheaper. If you have a memory foam mattress manufacturer in your area they will have off cuts.

nice one, thats what i was thinking of doing, and maybe even glueing one underneath my sheepskin too

The problem is sourcing a cheap piece of memory foam.

Pet bed pieces sometimes appear on ebay but the foam is not that dense and compresses easily like ordinary foam. I can't remember from whom I bought some but it was extremely cheap and so worth the punt.

Sometimes memory foam mattress companies will send out a sample block about 3inch cube. I've sometimes thought about getting a few samples from different suppliers, slicing them up into inch thick 3x3 blocks and gluing them together!!!

Anyone find a supplier of mattress quality foam an inch thick and about 12 in square, please post details.

A mate used to use one while despatching and claimed that it worked apart from shedding little wooden balls everywhere he went and people thinking he was a Catholic

The piece I used was closer to 2" thick.

It just so happen that I work for a company called Kayfoam, guess what they do ? ;)

I'll have a word with the boss tomorrow see what costs are involved.
