Now now, are you the first bloke from the left?

NO YOU'RE NOT, calm down. It was a joke for Mark :P

Plus, I didn't notice your 'Frankie gear'. And to be honest I don't give a shite what anybody wears!

I would have been there, unfortunately I have to work every Saturday :(

Pink camera man :P

Ps. I don't wear Beemer gear either......can't afford it! ;)

ride out required to dirty brand new 12gsa

Guy's sounds fun, are you open to adding another couple to your mud pluggers group. me and my brother are newish to the gs scene but would love to do a little offroading (i'm an ex enduro and supermoto rider so know how to crash in mud) we've met Dirtydog and I have to say i was impressed by his gsa's level of muckyness (reminded me of my GasGas after a 3hour enduro) now thats what i bought my GSA for, so if you have any ride's planned and don't mind another couple of guys joining could yer drop me a line.
By the way whats wrong with tourance's, well grippy. If you want zero grip try 90mph sideways on wet gravel with only Michy pilot slicks for fun.

Oi! I've had 2 R6's and a Ducati thank you :nono :rob

And I've had a CBR600, GSXR and a Fireblade.... :rob

All from new, did 18,000 miles on the CBR600 in 18 months.

Did nothing on the GSXR to speak off, coz I hated it. Worst thing I ever bought. :spitfire

Then 7000 miles on the Fireblade in just over 6 months.

And I even manged to get my knee down on the occasion.. :P

Out of interest, why did you hate the Gixxer?

IMO the Gixxer 750 is probably the best all-round sports bike in the world!

Never in the world could ever class it as a all round bike

I had ridden plenty of demostrators before buying mine, so I thought I knew what I was buying.

However, in the real world of riding to work everyday with a rucksack, was a whole new ball game. And if I am honest, it was not something that I had even thought about. :o

I was to focused on the need for speed and the need to corner as fast as I could. Yes indeed the GSXR handled like a dream, in fact one of the best handling bikes I have ever ridden.

Great as a toy for the weekly Sunday blast. But as a day to day machine, crap!!

I collected it on the Saturday morning from Knotts in Redditch, by Wednesday the following week I realised that I had made a huge mistake.

None the less I kept it for a few months, but then I got done for speeding. :o
6 points, £300 fine plus court costs of £50. Then another £300 for the solictor. :(

It was taken to Knotts the day that I was caught and I told them to sell it, I then walked home.

Sorry, but it was just not worth loosing my car licence, my HGV1 licence and my job over. :nono

I meant all-round as in power, handling, braking etc.

I used mine all year round for work etc, one year putting 17k on the clock. I didn't mind it, got used to it. But it didn't fair well through the winters (no worse than the GS :( ) Like yourself, I got done for speeding, the temptation was just to great so it had to go. I bloody miss it though :(

I know I won't buy another, certainly after hearing what my mates get up to and the accidents every week in my area :( I guess I must be getting older and more boring (so Dawn says :nenau ) but I'm happy riding the GS, and for different reasons it still manages to make me smile.....just about :mmmm

Now I know I'm opening myself up for even more abuse but some people just fit the damned things better than others. :P

My mate happily tours on his RSV Mille R Haga Rep, I can't sit on it for 5 minutes. He also toured Spain on a 916 and said it was fine. I did the same miles on an R6 and nearly died from the pain. :ymca

The worst thing for me was the footpegs, they felt like red hot pokers after a week in the saddle. :nenau

The final thing was I found I just never used the power, I spent most of my life below 10,000 rpm and I looked at the dyno graph I had and found I was still only on 60% of the power, pointless getting the stage 1 tune then really :eek

I miss the grunt from the Ducati on the way out of corners, now that was an engine :clap :bow but I don't miss the crippling running costs or the reliability issues. :nono :(

Fair play to people who do tour on sports bikes, personally I don't see the point and they wouldn't cope with the stuff us Tossers get up to on them :D

They just aren't practical to tour on, and let's face it were never meant too!

I can't believe how small the bloody things are. I sat on this lad's Gixxer 750 the other day, I felt like a giant on it and I'm only 11.5 stone . He's got to be 16 stone, surely that's neither comfy or safe for that matter :nenau. Sooner them than me nowadays

There's nothing like having something substantial between ya legs, trouble is, Dawn just doesn't appreciate me

sports bikes

I had a slabside 1100 , a bit old hat by todays standards but enough grip off the early radials to touch down the end of the cheese grater exhaust'equal first with adventurer for best bike owned, worst bike ever owned was the k model with 150 horse at back wheel ' it did 185 on the clock but was 25% slower around the bends than the slabside, it was almost as scary as riding the beemer at night

the older I get the faster I was :rob :rob :rob

I love some of the old 'slabsides', what an iconic bike, this was the shape of things to come :bow

And that gixxer 1100 lump, and what a lump it was! Still one of the favourites amongst hardcore street fighter freaks today! :thumb

You're gonna need some more lights on that bike if you wanna stay safe at night

Something like this.

THE BROTHERS'S GRIM RIDE AGAIN :P

Phil, FFS stop being so feckin gay and come out with the Dog and get dirty, I promise I'll look after you.....honest!

As for Steve Austin, he can look after himself ;)

When I get the 12, we'll go out over the Clee for an intro in the quarry and a little mud pluggin around the base of the hill :clap

Might need to change ya tyres though, get rid of those Tourance things all the :ymca ride around on :D

BTW: there's feck all with ridin a shed, especially when it's new. Anyway shit face, what's wrong with my bike? I know it's a bit dirty........ :nenau

The bikes no dirtier than it's moon child hippy owner!!!!!

What can I say, I like my bike nice and clean and without dings and scratches all over it. Can't afford to break it before we go to Spain next year.

I might follow snooty's route and get meself a leather waistcoat and turn the bike into a louis vitton handbag. :thumb
