This should probably be in the wanted section, however it is an area specific want.
This weekend we bought a house boat on Mersea and need to down size, ie no garage.
Anyone got a secure lock-up in the Mersea Island area, or that side of Colchester, where I can store the GS and other bits and bobs-tools, freezer, bike kit, wife's shoes.

Either rent or buy considered.

It's the Lorna, a converted Gaff Cutter circa 1850 but with new deck house and fittings. If you are down that way it's the boat next to Puffin Fay which I assume is another houseboat and not an asthmatic old lady plying her trade for the sailors.

Apart from this garage obstacle, it's a bit of a dream come true situation, especially if I can get some rideouts to set off from the cafe down the road.

Thanks for the offer of help to you and your Mom.

Found somewhere

I've managed to find a suitable lock up for the next 12 months.

When we move in at the end of May, I'll invite SE GSers down for drinks, it's a pleasant rideout, so I'm sure something suitably GSish can be sorted out, perhaps a tie in with the Arse in the Grass Rally that's held on the Island.

Glad you've got a lock up, I haven't had an opportunity to speak to Mum yet. There's usually lots of spare garages in Mersea as there's lots of old ladies with no cars. The problem is more likely to be pursueding them that you're an okay biker and not some sort of Hell's Angel!

I intend coming down for the Regatta in August, will probably be in the car and will bring sea Kayak to paddle round the Island.

If I pop down on the bike before I'll let you know.

Enjoy the Island, it's a great place.

Web Feet

My only concern about Mersea, is I've heard it's dubbed "Incest Island" with webbing between the sixth and seventh toes on each foot, and only three surnames between all the inhabitants.
Which makes me question the validity of a rally called "Condom".
