Mesh/Airflow jacket recommendations

Enjoyed some 28-30 degree sunshine on Wales tour last Friday, boil in the leather jacket bag time for me. For the remaining 5mins of summer I need a mesh/vented jacket - any good/bad or ugly experiences ?

Would likely go mid to high price range.

Rukka AiRider. Best summer jack. Used to have a Dianese air frame jacket but the two don't even compare. Still have it actually but haven't used it since.

What troos do you wear with it?

I like to zip my jacket and troos together but am not sure about wearing my Rukka ones in the summer - bit too warm...

I am using either my BMW Tokyo or Boulder jacket, zipped to BMW Summer or Rider trousers for summer riding.

I bought some end of line 2015 BMW Rallye trousers 15 months ago which are great. I was using a Black (Ghostbikes own make) branded mesh jacket but this is a bit flimsy.

Last week someone posted a link to https://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.s...ukka-Airrider/SubProducts/Rukka-Airrider-0025 and I bought the last one in Fat Bastard size. Some smaller sizes still available.

As those above say, this Rukka is very good. I completed a ride today and it lets plenty of air through. I took one of the EN1621 back protectors out of a Hein Gericke jacket I wear in winter which fits fine in the Airider.

The Rallye/Airider combo will be good for a trip away in warm weather. The Rallye has a removable waterproof & breathable layer. I have a nylon Belstaff over-jacket I can roll up into its own pocket to put over the Airider if it rains. The jacket is baggy enough to add some extra layers if it gets cold.

They also do AiRider trousers but when it's hot I just wear some Rukka Focus trousers (posh version of spada over trousers) with boxers.

If you want a cheaper option, I have a Rev'it Airwave and it works well.

Rev'it Chronos..... it comes with a inner stand alone Goretex jacket........ my only criticism of the jacket is the collar is a bit high for a mesh jacket.

No - Rukka has full width chunky zip, BMW Rallye has finer teeth and not so long zip

Ok thanks for that, I hate riding without the jacket and trousers zipped together - will check out the matching Rukka trousers.

Never zip jacket and trousers together, have just bought some bike jeans that pretty good up to 25ish degrees, then I have some old mesh trousers, can't remember the make.

I have the Motoport Kevlar mesh jacket and trousers with quad armour, it really is top class stuff. IMO its the best protection you can buy. Its made to measure but not cheap, more so since the £ dropped.
