Looking to get a good quality (reasonably cheap) summer mesh jacket for the 2 or 3 warm days we're gonna get this summer......... any suggestions?

Has anyone used the Scott Summer?

I have a BMW summer jacket, which I have been very pleased with, although I think I wore it twice last year

I've one, won in a raffle, it's a little too small for me but in hot weather it's very good. I think they have a longer use period if you use a light waterproof over the top

I have used this in the last 3 summers http://www.ghostbikes.com/5010-black-piston-mesh-summer-motorcycle-jacket.html

Every now & then they have a sale and drop the price by a tenner.

Very breezy and does not take much space in a pannier for use once you get to the Dolomites. I stick my HG Cruise jacket under a cargo net if using the mesh jacket.

Wow, that's great value. I need a grey/silver one to match a pair of BMW Airflow pants I bought off here this week.

I've been thinking about buying one of them too but the lack of a waterproof liner and back protector at £370 is pushing me towards a Klim Induction instead

Yeah, the Hi-Viz Induction is top of my wanted list but I can't justify the money for the amount of use it's gonna get. The Scott in the picture above can be had for €120!!!! (and I know we're not comparing "apples wit apples")

Just bought some silver BMW Airflow pants....... would the Hi Viz Induction look alright with them?

Why would anybody in their right mind want a mesh jacket with a waterproof LINER? Just pack a rain jacket hat got over the top - that way the mesh jacket doesn't get soaked. I have a Dainese mesh jacket with just such a liner - one of the dumbest ideas since the designer put the waterproof layer of the Rally suit on the inside...

When I used to ride in Australia (regularly 40 C plus) I had a cheap generic mesh jacket that i fitted dainese armour to worked a treat, my mate went the tshirt over the armour route but looked a bit of a twat as the shirt rode up his back over 60 mph.

Been back in the UK for 2 years and havnt needed a mesh jacket yet but heres hoping
