META357T LED stays on without flashing???

Hi there

My LED used to flash, and now it stays on the whole time??? Any advice please???

Does the bike start? has the battery been allowed to drop to a low voltage?

instructions for use here if you dont have them but they do not refer to your fault.

It is draining the battery, and I have done a search for a similar problem, could not find anyone with a similar issue. Everything works as it should, only problem is the battery getting drained every day!!!!

No wonder I have to keep buying batteries. Thinking of taking the Meta off, just an added hassle and do not want to be stuck in the middle of no where with a silly immobiliser/alarm that does not allow me to start the bike. I will ask Greg Masters if he could perhaps give me a hand with removing the alarm as I am ham-fisted with tools, already stuffed up the plastic plug cover as I could not get the plug back on after I had taken it off, (funny screws) so I forced it open with a screwdriver. Just hope no water gets into it.

I've just removed the same model alarm from my daughters bike,

we didn't have the same LED problem you have but it was draining the battery in 2-3 days.

took it of a couple of weeks ago and replaced the knackered battery and all is now fine.

I've always found alarms are more trouble than they are worth

How easy/difficult is it to remove the alarm???

easy enough,

most wires just connect into existing wires to pick up power, flash the indicators etc. and these can easily be removed.

there were two immobiliser circuits on our and with these you just trace them out to the circuits the chop into (ignition and starer relay probably) and the re-solder the original wires back together

took no more than an hour all in on her little honda

Thanks Ian, as soon as you mentioned "chop into" and "re-solder" I realised that I will need help with this one???

Anyone close to New Barnet/London willing to lend a helping hand please??? I can always try and bribe with a few pints???

Hi Dave

Thank you for the offer, but I leave for Johannesburg on the 30th of Dec, and my bikes will ship soon after. Hope someone can help me before that time. I know it is bad timing but that is normally the way things happen, as soon as you do not want something to go wrong, then it happens.
