metal panniers

Okay I realise this may have been done to death but as I am new I throw myself on your mercy. Just got GS 800 . looking at panniers/top box; any views on choosing BMW, Metal Mule, Touratech. Ideally a strong case with quick release and water proof. Also BMW make a back pad for the 1200 top box, can that fit the 800.

There are a few guys from this site that make panniers, have a look at this section http://www.ukgser.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=66 A big pot of coffee and a few hours looking at them all. There is loads of choice on here, I found it best to hold off buying and when I went to my 1st UKGSers meet I seen them all in one field.

I'd suggest watching the FSW section often, metal boxes come up quite often and you might save a few beer vouchers, which is nice.
