Michelin have partnered up with ‘Liberty Rider’ to host their route suggestions.

Find them all here:

One tip: If the past is anything to go by, the hosting site will not last forever. Download all or any of the routes now and save them.

It takes a bit of tapping around in the Liberty Rider app, to download a route. But, with a bit of guessing (and safe in the knowledge that you can’t break it) I got there.

Here’s a sample:

I saved the download as a track into MyRoute, simply because routes from third parties (sometimes) render themselves better that way.

PS I’ll probably download all 52 at some point and save them into my library, not least as the site will probably die at some point.

Here’s how:

This was all on an iPad.

When you’ve downloaded the GPX file, open it in whatever app you like. I used Pocket Earth Pro (which did require a bit of easy editing, within the Pocket Earth Pro app, as two versions - one was just straight lines - came across simultaneously) and into MyRoute, imported as a track.

Then edited to remove the straight lines:

Richard, what are the benefits of importing GPX file into the Pocket Earth instead of directly into MRA?

I have Pocket Earth installed on my iPad, but would like to understand your reasoning and why you like to use it.

Thank you.

None.

But…

Sometimes Pocket Earth Pro can open third party downloads, which MyRoute might struggle with. I use Pocket Earth Pro just as a back-up as it sometimes shows what a problem might be. For example, the download above of the route in Corsica, includes what I’d call a ‘ghost’ version, of the straight lines.

Pocket Earth is also better at displaying multiple routes at the same time.

Thank you for the explanation Richard.

Here is an idea Richard to avoid future disappointment. for some. Why don't you simply post them up here as .gpx files? :nenau

Why, when I have shown people how to do it? They can then chose as many (or as few) as they want to keep.

Because they will only 'wake up' when the site is gone.
Then you'll get asked to send them/ upload them- foresight saves grief imho.
