Microsoft Outlook

I have a BT internet e-mail account and all the incoming mails initially come into btyahoo and then get transferred across to my Microsoft outlook as if by magic

This magical transfer has stopped working so although I can send messages from Outlook in the normal way, the incoming mails stop in yahoo which a right pain.

Anybody have any ideas as to what`s not happening and is there a fix?

They may have changed their POP3 address.
Check your settings are ok in "accounts" in Outlook.

Mail comes in through POP3 from your yahoo and is Vomited out direct to the world with SMTP which doesn't rely on the connection to Yahoo to send.

Go to :- 'Tools' 'Email Accounts' 'Next' 'Change'

Then check that both your incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) are set to mail.btinternet.com

SPA should not be ticked

In 'More settings' on the 'Outgoing Server' tab, make sure 'Outgoing SMTP Authentication' is ticked and 'Use same settings as incoming mail server'

Did the above fix work Sgt? I have the same problem and have checked the above setting, but Outlook is still not automatically downloading the messages.

I fixed mine in seconds - it's easy: get your 16-year old nephew round and let him sort it!
