Mileage question.

I am going to test ride a 1150 GS on Friday which is in a dealers.
It has a full BMW service history and appears from the pictures to have been very well looked after and very clean.
It is on a 02 plate and has do e 93,000 miles. My question is what mileage are these engines good for ? Is it worth a punt or should I walk away ?

That's dealer's price for you, I'd bide my time and keep an eye out here.

3k for a 94000 miler

As above, bide your time. For an 02 bike you should be paying less than 3k with half that mileage.

Bargains do happen, I got my X plater with 20k on it for 2200 18 months or so ago.

They are good for big miles, but it would have to be cheeeeeeaaaaaaap.

There's a couple of blue and white 1150GS's in the for sale section at the moment. Think one is an 03 plate with half the miles, lots of extras and less money than your dealer is asking and the other has even less miles. Nothing to do with me but I know which bike I'd buy. Good luck.

The engine is good for ton's of miles but like has been said, there are plenty about for less with less miles... You should not be too worried about private sales as long as you have your wanker filter on as they are usually easy to spot...
