(guess you found a way of getting pics from xd card, did you have to sacrifice quality for the sake of the slide show or do I need a new camera?)

No mate some of the pics didn't come out great coz of the flash...and I wans't using my super duper fast lens coz you told me it wouldn't be good for the trip....... and I didn't want to listen to you....( This time.... next time will be different...) I won't use it...LOL
