Mini compressor

Another option..

The one NN does is very nice indeedy.. neat package. BUT for about a £10-15 and some times a bit cheaper the plastic cased ones are pretty good too. Some people remove the plastic casing and the usually dodgy pressure gauge too, but if you do, ensure you use your gloves when using it, as they get quite HOT and have moving parts.. but by taking the plastics off they suddenly shrink in size and weight. Just another option for you.

Hello,
I want to go to the Nordkapp with my 1200 ADv in june.
I think that I need to take a mini compressor with me and a tire repair set.
Can somebody recommend me a good mini compressor?
Any experience with the Touratech mini compressor?

Thanks.

I have the Slime compressor:

That's a US website but you can get them here.

Also a Stop'N'Go kit

Again, you can buy them here in the UK.

All work well.

One slight word of caution. You might find that if you plug the compressor straight into the 1200GS's aux socket, then start the compressor, it will trip the bike's CanBus system = no power. This is simply as the compressor, from cold start, draws more than 5 amps. Connect straight to battery, no problem.

No need to go for an expensive one as the cheapo versions do the job pretty well too. You might find exactly the same internals in the cheap version as the more expensive ones. It's basically all the same chinese made mini compressor engine. Just the casing, gauge, connection hose etc are different.

Just pay attention not to run it too long as the seals might wear out pretty quickly due to the heat... Most of the time there is a 10 min usage limit ;-)

Stop 'n go compact kit definitely is the bizz for tubeless tyres. Easy, quick and reliable.

If you have one of those 12v tyre compressors lurking under a pile of crap in the back of the garage just take it to bits and you'll find the compressor bit is tiny. Use that :thumb2

Why not buy a tyre repair set c/w CO2 cylinders?

Hello everybody,

Thanks for all the replies.
I found a little compressor from continental in a Ford S-max.
I'm gone try out this one.

I have the Slime compressor. It works from the standard accessory socket on my 2008 Adventure.
