Minimum brake pad depth ?

I've never seen it mentioned in the BMW manual.
However, as the rear caliper is a singel side piston caliper, there are slider pins.
If there is any unbalance in wear between the two pads, this will be an indication for sticky sliders.

On my own bikes I try to move the caliper sideways when the pads are out. This will reveal if the slider pins are stuck.

So far it has never caused any problem on any of my bikes, so it may be an overkill on my side.
On the other hand, that is my DIY privilege :friday

Makes sense to check everything when your at it :thumb:D

Just thinking of upgrading my front set anyone know if brembo are better than ebc

I suspect it’s like tyres, we have many opinions, personally I prefer Brembos and will swap the OEMs for them when the time is right, which I feel is 1.5 - 2.00 mm.

I think I have in stock a brand new set of Brembo rears, which I bought a couple of years ago for my 1200 GSA and never needed in 35,000 miles, hopefully they might fit the 1250 equivalent.

Would you know the part no of the front brembo pads as I am getting lost trying to find the ones for my 2016 lc gsa

I bought from HPS the following for my 2016 GSA

BREMBO 07-BB-38-SC ROAD/TRACK SINT F PADS
Code: 61611 Qty Sent: 2 Qty Owed: 0

BREMBO 07-BB-03-SP ROAD SINT R PADS

Well worth replacing the rears, Gs's do seem to have a propensity to go through the rears quite quickly, peace of mind and all that.

The rears wear out very quickly in the Alps etc. when you're having to use the brakes more. My rear pads were only 50% worn at the 6k service and were down to the metal less than 2k miles later after a few days riding the Swiss passes on the way to the Italian Lakes :blast I had to get them replaced at a BMW dealers in Bolzano
