Mint 1150GSA SE - What's It Worth?

I was in Lind BMW on Friday and I almost brought on bike on the spot. A 1150GSA SE on a 55 plate in White and Blue. 1856 miles. Mint. That's Mint with a capital M, other than slightly worn tyres it is new.

Why didn't I buy? The price. Mr Lind had kindly reduced it from £9250 to £8999. Feck me that's a lot. OK this bike is worth a bit more than book but holy cow. I've have previous with this dealer and they do not negotiate even a little bit so rather than waste another couple of hours pointlessly with the sales guy to find that he'll knock a hundred off and push it outside for me at no extra cost, I walked.

What is it worth?

Nice bike! doesnt even come with luggage:blast, they are nice but not worth that imo, but hey whats that worth.:thumb, if its what youre really after and you can afford it , go for it, if as you seem to have done realised it aint quite worth the money look for another:thumb. Still going to set you back about £7000 for a good un.
 
Put it in perspective.......

13 grand upwards for a new 1200 adv, or 9k for this one.......i'd take the SE without a second's hesitation and have a year or two's free petrol, and still have a better bike at the end of it than the 1200 adv owner :thumb2

The bloke that buys it will tell you how much it's worth.....NO-ONE else knows (for sure).....
 
If it had been 7K or even 7.5K it'd already be mine. It's late, mint and low mileages from a dealer. It's going to cost a bit more, but 9K? How do you even negotiate from that to a sensible figure, when knocking a grand off isn't enough.

To the guy that buys it: "Well done. Next week, when you've found that you hate it after a quick 20 mile run. You'll sell it to me. For a fair price of course :augie".

I would not take the SE over a new bike esp'of you are not paying cash

stop romancing about an obsolete piece of kit.....

get a 1200.......... unless you've got short legs and did O'levels :D:D

a lot better on and off road too :thumb2

OTR price in 2005 was £9500

Standard buildspec was Big Tank/Crashbars/Adv Screen and including HGrips/Servo ABS/Clear lenses

A Black or Silver one at the time, in same spec was about £10,250

So the SE was cheaper :augie

Panniers/TopBox and Foglights were extra

1) what has the cash bit got to do with it?
2) not romancing, I just prefer a motorcycle made of metal not plastic
3) I have extremely LONG legs and rather a lot more than 'O' levels TYVM......why don't YOU stop following fashion blindly?

Fine if you'd rather spend 13k PLUS on a 1200 (which is, don't forget, about to become 'Obsolete' itself....Given the choice of that SE and £4k+ in my pocket or a 1200, it's a no brainer for me....YMMV
 
There's a 10,000m one (with orig racks,panniers and topbox) in apparently- mint condition at Motorrad Central Dalkeith...........

For £8,000.

Gotta be worth that?????

Buy a mint low mileage late 1150 Adventure in black/silver for 5K and spend a couple of hundred spraying it SE colours, if you like that scheme, and pocket the money you save... or send me a cheque for the amount you've saved if you're that intent on throwing good money away!:JB

If you have a mint 2005 1150GSA with less than 2000miles and want to sell it to me for £5k, then I guess I'd overlook the fact that it is the wrong colour.

Is £5K what it's really worth? There's a black 03 (with extra) with 6K on MCN for £6K so I would expect it to be a bit more than that.

I'm in no hurry. I expect it will find it's own price and if it's still there in a couple of months time I have a punt at a cash offer.

Obsolete?

These bikes generate more interest than '2 a penny 1200's' and for sheer riding enjoyment I take the 1150adv keys over the 1200adv's every time. Better on road than the 1150 ?

Depends on your yardstick.

My SE is mint with 16k miles.

if I put it back to standard you'd have to give me £9k for it, simple.:thumb
