Mirror extenders

I'll make a set of them for you if you'd like - just pay for the postage, which I'd guess to less than $8.00 or so.

All I need is the thread size and pitch (probably a M10 X 1.50 or 1.25) and how long you want them. Super easy to make, I've made quite a few in the past for friends on various types of bikes.

Can anyone point me towards some mirror extenders, like the type below which will lift the mirrors 30mm or so from original height.

It would also be good to know what thread spec I should be looking for.

Thanks

HERE???

30mm exactly :)

Ignore the bodgy welding and stuff I did to them......that was just to get an angle to the extension as well.

Look at he first pic of my K and you'll see the extender in place, in the shot with the bicycle mirror on...it's the hexagonal silver thingy that you'll also see a pair of on top of the vice before I butchered them.

You will need to stick an Allan head bolt through from underneath (or a hex head bolt if you want) to pop out and screw the extended nut onto, and if you want to do it properly you may want to fekk around with a locking nut, or at the least some decent thread seal, but those things are pennies from most engineering fastener shops.

I believe the thread at the base of the stem of the R1200GS mirrors are a left hand thread and they are 10mm x 1.25 pitch. This threads into an adapter which then screws to the bar mount. This, I believe has a M10 x 1.25 R/H thread. Your extender would be dependent on exactly where it would be mounted. Hope this makes sense! I mounted some GS mirrors to another bike and used THESE.
