My current Bike is a 2008 Bmw r1200Gs Adventure, with OEM mirrors.
Bought some new fully adjustable Ramball mounted Mirrors that fit onto their own brackets, no problem there, however I wanted some plain black plugs for the holes left after taking off the OEM mirrors.
On arrival of 2 new plugs 1 of which is reverse threaded, seems the thread is completely different to what is required, could not make them fit, they are M10 bolts and 1.25 mm thread. Only cost £14.00 delivered from Amazon.
Question: Did Bmw in their wisdom use a different thread from what is compatible for my mirror holes, different from a 1.25 mm Fine thread Pattern?
Hoping to source locally M10 Bolts with 1.55 cm overall length, with a 1.25 mm thread, but which thread pattern will fit?
Failing that will just stuff em with a rubber plug. Easy option if I can find such a thing. Only something required to keep muck and rain out from threads, in case mirrors go back on.
Temporary refitted the bottom bolts off the OEM mirrors, and rubbers.
