In my continuing search to make my 1100 as narrow as possible, in order to ease the passage up the side of the house. I think I've finally cracked it!
With an inch out of the middle of the bars and shorter, stainless, bar end weights the mirrors still clouted and scraped down the wall. So, after much deliberation and a feast of pints, I nicked the wing mirrors of my wifes old Fiat Panda and grafted them in place of the normal GS indicator mount. I've slung the indicators under the oil cooler using the beak mounting bolts and added some LED repeaters onto the mirrors.
The view rearwards is as least as good as the bar mounted mirrors and rock solid even at an indicated 120mph. They're fully adjustable and I reckon the don't look half as daft as I'd originally thought
The width is now down to a svelte 840mm (33" in old money).
Some pictures are enclosed.
