Mirrors wonky

I have fitted some brake and clutch reservoir protectors to my gsa.
However there are two knuts under the rubber sleeve on the mirrors and now when i tighten the mirror up it is facing completely the wrong way.
Has anyone done this and knows how to do it properly before i throw the bike on the floor

Under the rubber cover, the top nut is a lock nut. If you undo it you can position the mirror where you want, tighten the lock nut and finished.
However I believe that the lock nut is a left hand thread.

Yes, it is left hand thread. Just farkled my brake and clutch reservoirs with protectors this weekend.
