Hi Folks

I recently purchased a GS 1100 1995 it needed TLC to bring up to

decent running mode.

So far so good, short runs no prob's long runs starts to miss a beat on tickover

roughly anything above 1500 runs a treat excellent bike !

Downside is normal running temp on tickover seems to miss a beat almost to stall

then pickup, anyone give any pointers ?

Regards Mack..... :)

Have you given it a FULL service prior to using it ??

Sounds like it needs one.

Hi Tarka,

Well I replaced the fuel filter when I repaired the the tank sender unit,

and replaced oil and filter, saying that air filter still in situ and plugs are the

same, I checked them they are the three prong variety type which looked in

good nick to me.

What I cannot understand is above tickover it runs a dream !

Many thanks Mack....

There`s more to a full service than changing the fuel filter, oil filter and engine oil.

As Cookie suggests, the throttle bodies will need balancing too.

There`s more than that though, and I still recommend completing the all the service requirements... valve clearances, air filter, new plugs, etc.

You can`t really start looking for problems unless everything`s been done, as a fully serviced bike at the correct settings is a 'datum line' .

Hi Folks thanks for the info,

Balance the throttle bodies with bleed screws ?

any particular method of doing this, and before I attempt the former I shall

get the air filter etc and other service items.

And thanks again for the input :)

Best regards Mack....

Mack,

You`re best off doing a Forum Search and reading the results at leisure. :thumb

Yes I will do a search and checkout whats been posted regards

the subject.

Many thanks Mack... :)

Hi bsa250,

If after your service it still occurs try some injector cleaner. It worked for my mate on his 1150 with simular problem.

Cheers
