Ok so the new gsa has a nearly new Anakee iii on the back and a very nearly knackered anakee iii on the front.

I want to run Conti Road attacks.

Has anyone had an anakee on the rear and road attack or trail attack on the front?

Thoughts?

tbh I would not, but more so the Contis fitted it is the front that is going to have the largest impact on improvment in my view so pretty pointless unless you are to replace a set

Get another Anakee front, they are a good tyre and grip is great wet or dry. As for the main complaint, the noise, can't say that I have noticed. The last two sets of tyres I have had (roadtech 01 and roadsmart 3) have been more noisy than the Anakees, I might go back to them.

anakee on the rear, roadtec 01 on the front. no issuses even when ridden very hard.
anakee rear now needs changing so will put a roadtec on rear as prefer roadtec

Yeah but as a good thing? Or because you have some deathwish?

Because I run with what I have or can get, sometimes I get a similar pair or other times I use other stuff

My GSA has currently got a Tourance rear and Conti TA2 and it's fine in rain or shine

My dirt bikes, rarely have tyres from the same manufacturer - my XR has a Sava MotoX hard compound front and a Mitas Enduro rear and it's fine on the road

People worry too much about sliding off, especially in the wet:P

Been running a new Avon on the front of my 1190 for last 2,500 miles whilst I have been wearing out a Next on the back - no issues at all ;)

Cheers fellas. I’m sure there’s enough rider aids to help make sure I stay upright with mixed Tyres.

I have a new Anakee 111 front which I bought for my GSLC but but never fitted it before i sold the bike.

Are the adventurer tyres the same size as a normal GS?

If so and you'd like it, make me an offer and I'll even fit it for you if you'd like a ride to Churchdown in Gloucestershire

I've mixed tyres and have never had a problem. As with my previous GS, the current bike was bought in March fitted with OEM Anakee 3s. I put a PR4 on the back at 3K miles before a trip to Spain. The front A3 has now been replaced (at 6.5K) with a PR4. This repeats what I did with the last GS. No hint of any problems, in the wet or dry. I've done similar with other bikes over the years and never had a problem.

Job done. Many thanks Steve for the offer, and I suppose one option would be to offer my nearly new rear if anyone wanted to give me a few quid and I could get both changed.
