firstly if this is in the wrong section then I apolagise, got home tonight to find a id picked up a screw in me front tyre, fookin metal drivin screw aswell, so complete with hardened tip!, anyways, its about an inch/inch an a half off centre, whats peoples thoughts on repairin motorbike tyres??, good idea or not worth the risk???, id have had no qualms about putting in a sticky cord if I was stuck on the side of the road just to get me out the shit, but as a permanent fix is it worth it????

Also anyone recommend a good mobile motorcycle tyre fitter(one that isn't going to get sadistic on me alloy rims) in the west midlands, Halesowen, dudley,Stourbridge area etc.?????,

Do a search here for 'puncture repair' :blast

Seriously, it's what the search function is for, and will turn up a thousand times more information that you will get by starting YET ANOTHER thread on a puncture :)

Terry from Gyrotec Dudley, 07800 578 293 - he replaced my rear Diablo Rosso 2 on my Ducati for £150 a year or so back which I thought was reasonable

But that is what the forum is for. I tried the search , no good , quicker and more help to ask , especially as the location question .

Thanks lads, I did do a search first and although it came up with tyre threads, nothin really of any use! Ill give terry a ring in the morning, I take it hes a decent fitter then?, no damage to rims etc??, im a bit paranoid now being honest, on me last bike I had a set of tyres replaced bt a local firm, who to be fare specialise in cars, but they swore blind they could do bike tyres, what a mistake that was, completly fooked up both rims!, and then swore blind it was the tyres fault coz there so tight to get on an off!

Well I'd have swung for him if he'd damaged the wheel of my pride and joy, luckily he didn't. He came recommended to me and I've repaid the favour several times since. I will say that he had to be chased a few times after he didn't reply to my first voicemail so maybe Stick has an email address for him too?? I did have it but can't quite put my finger on it. Just done a quick reccie, it seems he charged me about £30 fitting and balancing (and travelling to W-ton from Dudley) which isn't bad by half really. I'll try and dig out his email address.

Just to let you know, spoke to terry today, hes no longer offering a mibile service, decided to take on a unit in Hockley, birmingham, seemed like a decent bloke on the fone! He says his premises will be operational sometime next week!

Try this chap:

Sticky Jim, 07900 800949 from Shifnal - he may come as far as Brum. My very trustworthy mate recommends him and says he is a bike specialist not into car tyre fitting

Ha Ha - how funny - I was busy chasing my mate down on Facebook rather than keeping an eye on your response - but great minds and all that :) glad you are sorted
