Just got a letter this morning from Matt at Cooper Reading, saying that a safety/technical recall was needed. Phoned up, and it appears that there is a recoding of the motronic needed, something to do with the catalytic converter my bike no longer has. We agreed that this was probably not something I needed.

Also, quoted me 1.75 hours labour for brake/clutch fluids change, as £102.32 plus VAT. This is the one job I don't feel happy about doing myself, out of the regular maintenance that is, but I guess its time to learn.

Isn't that the one where they just give you a different cat-code plug? I was told I could drop in and collect it if I was passing, but as I wasn't using the cat, I probably didn't need it.

I said was it the plug box under the tank, but he seemed to think it involved recoding the motronic - of course changing the plug connections does that. He did not sound 100% certain.

Fecking piss take - 30 minutes start to finish for all the brakes and clutch fluid change - and £4 worth of fluid
