I have been using an Interphone F4 system for a year and a half now. The only thing I really wanted to change about it was the headset as the speakers aren't terribly clear.

I have ordered (and received) a set of Ultimate Ear monitors (now re-named to 'sound-ear') moulds with built-in speakers. I used to have these before and loved them but my old set are knackered.

Ultimate Ear will modify the F4 headset to allow the monitors to be plugged into them - and I've had them do mine. I just have the challenge of fitting the modded headset to my System 6 lid.

As can be seen, the headset no longer has the speaker to act as a mounting point, so this might be fun:

Anyone else done this job?

Well erm.. yes, mine was the first one done - its the price you pay when you work for them but you have to prove it before you can offer it to punters.

Mine is fitted on a Schuberth S3 but you won't get the clamp fitting on there as it will be too far back for the boom. Use the adhesive pad fitting and you can get it in the right place for boom and sun visor lever.

Brilliant :)

How did you get the boom to stay in place without the speaker acting as an anchor?

Indeed. I fitted the adhesive fitting 1.5 years ago when I started using the F4 :)

Well I've taped it into place, attached the wires to the underside of the padding using a few stitches and tested - works just fine :)
