As I've got the 17" wheel conversion on my 1100,the front beak now looks a bit too long.
Does anyone know whether it's possible to cut it safely,is the plastic solid and would it just need re-spraying?
A hacksaw cut would reveal all but I'm not that brave!

The beak is just moulded plastic so you can cut away and tidy it up with a dremel - it's not laminaated or aanything fancy so you can work on them quite easily.

..........or you can use the same disc-cutter that you used on your exhaust! :beerjug:

A German company called boxerdesign do a short beak for the 1100, apx 4 inches shorter I belive

www.boxer-design.de

Do you find the bike's handling a lot different withe the 17" front wheel?

A propos dealing with Boxer Design, I've bought several bits of kit from them and found them helpful and pleasant to deal with.

Unlike another German company (TT), they despatch goods very quickly and with very low carriage costs.

That question was from a while ago!
Thanks for the response,I'm working on an airhead project at the moment,so I've made no further mods to the 1100.
Also,I'm becoming increasingly tempted to buy a R100GS and see if I prefer it to the 1100.
I feel a mid-life crisis coming on......!
