M'off to the other side of the world

We were going to be busy for the next week starting with a flight to Queenstown in the South Island so it was time to pack a bag once more and head for Auckland airport again, this time for a domestic flight with Jet Star, thankfully this flight duration was just shy of 2 hours and being "domestic" was a breeze to check in and board.
Mount Cook just visible through the clouds, we would be getting a lot closer in the coming week.

What a great trip and have a belter of a time.

If you want a trip to Alcatraz when you are in SF, highly recommended, you will have to book in advance as it gets insanely busy. Saying that, it's out of the main tourist season so you may get straight on to a tour.
Boudin bakery on the waterfront is good for food too

We enjoyed our time in Queenstown it is a busy town with lots to see and do, plenty of eating/drinking & shopping outlets and lots of small pop up street food eateries along the harbourside, outdoor activities on water and land or sky based are catered for it's a bit like a play ground, one of our favourite places in South Island.

Drive up to Glenorchy, where rumour has it is you have a pie and a real fruit ice cream you're eating local and practically a Kiwi, boxes ticked at "Frank's corner" ✅

The day we left Queenstown we had 300 ish km drive to our next booked accommodation at Lake Tekapo, we packed the cars up and headed to town for the first of several activities booked for today, chair lift to the top of the Ben Lomond reserve.

Where we had booked 5 trips on the Luge, as ever the males of the family (always fiercely competitive at any type of driving or racing activity) were jostling for position the whole time and carving up the rest of the field in search of a family victory, great fun.

A great morning's entertainment, mindful of the journey ahead we headed back to the loaded cars but got side tracked on the way, I mean indoor sky diving.....why wouldn't you want to try that? None of us ever had, so we gave it a try, it was an absolute hoot.
